For over 10 years I was an overly enthusiastic occultist, without even knowing it. Popular spirituality deeply entwined in today’s culture was a big part of my life and identity. My favourite spiritual practices involved clairvoyance, tarot cards, astrology, yoga, and the law of attraction.
The fundamental belief system of a new ager is that God —usually refered to as, ‘source energy’, the ‘divine creator’, or the ‘universe’ — has manifested itself within us to have a multifaceted experience of its own creation. So essentially, God is experiencing itself through every one of us, therefore we are all ‘one’ with God and consequently all ‘one’ with each other. New-agers believe that our purpose is to achieve spiritual enlightenment through transcending physical ‘reality,’ through a number of specific spiritual practices.
The new age movement is essentially ancient paganism repackaged and sold to us in an attractive and seductive format, that’s also a multi-million dollar industry that has made its way into every aspect of society.
Anton Levay, the founder of the Church of Satan once said “New Agers have freely drawn all manner of satanic material adapting it to their own hypocritical purposes. But in truth, all ‘New Age’ labelling is trying to play the devils game without using the devil’s infernal name.”
New Age is rooted in Satanism
The ‘Joy of Satan Ministries’ is a website which is dedicated to spiritual Satanism. They summarise satanism as this: “We know we “save” our own souls as opposed to claims of the Nazarene saving anyone. Satanism is based upon the true transformation of the soul through power meditation.” It also quotes: “We practice power meditation to advance spiritually and to elevate ourselves. Power meditation is as essential for the human soul as food is essential for the human body. The serpent, a symbol of Satan represents the fiery kundalini force coiled at the base of the spine, which upon ascending, transforms the human mind and soul to a much higher level of understanding and ability. This is the true meaning of “Raising the Devil.” The Serpent symbol of Satan also represents the DNA helix of life.”
In Hinduism, the kundalini serpent is believed to be the ‘divine essence’ coiled up and waiting for us to evolve spiritually so that it may rise. This complements the satanic belief.
Where did we even get the knowledge that we have a ‘divine’ essence lying dormant within us that needs to be awakened? From the father of lies himself of course. In Genesis 3:4–5 Satan tells Eve “You too shall be as God; you surely shall never die.”
The Joy of Satan Ministries also teaches in depth about all the various techniques they use to ‘transform’ their souls, such as astrology, auras, magic, self-hypnosis, incense, crystals, pendulums, runes, clairvoyance, past lives, chanting, the pineal gland, the chakras, the astral plane, spells, the kundalini serpent, yoga, meditation and the law of attraction.
New-agers use the same methods to reach enlightenment (give or take the spells and magic bits.) Satanists also claim that many of their practices originate from ancient India — another connection to the new age.
The problem with yoga
The word yoga in the eastern ancient language of Sanskrit, means to ‘yoke’, to be ‘in union with’, or ‘tied together’ with Brahman, the Hindu creation god. Yoga was taught in ancient Hindu texts (the vedas), which talk about being “yoked with the universal consciousness” and the “merging one’s soul with the divine.” When practicing yoga you bind yourself to Hindu deity. The poses and sequences are used to worship specific Hindu gods such as Shakti, Shiva, Ganesha, the moon and the sun. Bebederos is a Hindu demon who acted out a murder in response to a command by Shiva, and the Warrior poses 1,2 and 3 is the re-enactment of that particular murder scene.
“To a Hindu, Yoga is the outward physical expression of a deep spiritual belief. You cannot separate one from the other.” — George P. Alexander, Ph.D via Yoga poses are offerings to Hindu gods?
If Satanists are doing yoga to ‘raise their witchpower’ then what consequences does that have on a Christian who doesn’t understand what the asanas (poses) mean? What does that also mean for our children who do yoga in schools, whose minds are most vulnerable to spiritual influence?
I came across a quote by the Vatican’s former exorcist Gabriele Amoth which compared yoga to devil worship and he referred to it as ‘evil.’
To conclude, the only real difference between New-Age and Satanism is that, Satanists know exactly who they are worshipping. A new ager will firmly deny this because they don’t even believe in satan, but let’s not forget, the very nature of deception is that it’s a deception, and just like Eve, you don’t know you’re being deceived.
We live in a world that hates Jesus, a world run by satanic elites who tell us that what is good is evil and that what is evil is good — we see that message loud and clear everywhere we go. Just remember, good is still good, even if no one is doing it, and evil is still evil, even if everyone is doing it.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly realms. — Ephesians 6:10–17
Really well written! I am restacking in hopes others will be unpacking all the realities of the new age movement(s) you have revealed with great prose of simple truth.
New Age is a movement to “save” mankind which is to be a “Christ,” and Jesus told us many would come in His Name as such. Paul told us one more here how they’d come and what they’d look like!
“And what I am doing I will continue to do, in order to undermine the claim of those who would like to claim that in their boasted mission they work on the same terms as we do. For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.”
